Day 1: Monday 31st August
We collect you from your home or guest house in the city and head along the R27 towards the West Coast National Park. We enter Postberg Fower Reserve, which is only open during the months of August and September each year. Postberg is famous for the superb display of Spring Flowers ; the healthy animals you can see on the plains, the views of the sea at Plaantjiesbaai and the wonderful view of ever-growing Langebaan from the view site at the top of the reserve. A day spent in the West Coast National Park is one you will not easily forget! Lunch is for your account. We will check into our guest house in Port Owen in the late afternoon—Overnight: Russells on the Port. (D/E).
Day 2: Tuesday 1st September
Our second day has us exploring the area in and around Port Owen – Laaiplek and it’s fascinating harbor; a trip up the Berg River with its wonderful bird life; late afternoon coffee in Bokkom Laan! Overnight: Russells on the Port / Dinner in Port Owen (B/D/E)
Day 3: Wednesday 2nd September
We leave Port Owen after breakfast and head along the R27 and spend the day in Paternoster exploring the little town and it’s flowers; art routes; and natural beauty! In the afternoon we start making our way to Darling and will have a stop at the Tienie Versveld Flower Reserve.
We check into our accommodation for the next 2 nights – Darling Lodge Guest House. Here Oliver and Stephan and their staff take such good care of you—it will be difficult to leave!
Dinner tonight is at a local restaurant in Darling. (B/D/E).
Day 4: Thursday 3rd September
After breakfast we head out of Darling to the flower reserves around town – Weylandts, Duckitt Orchid Farm reserve and further on the road to Malmesbury where you will witness the beauty of the starkingly beautiful canola fields and arum lilies (excellent photo opportunity)! We will also visit Evita se Perron on a guided tour in the late afternoon! Overnight: Darling Lodge Guest House / Dinner in Darling (B/D/E).
Day 5: Friday 4th September
Check out of our accommodation at Darling Lodge Guest House after breakfast. We take a drive to the Riebeek Valley to end our tour! Explore their many shops offering top class olives and wine! Mid-Afternoon will see us heading back to Cape Town. (Lunch own account)
