West Coast Park Flowers 2015
My visit to West Coast National Park on 29th August 2015. A day tour to this nature reserve was a very memorable one. From the entrance to the park (Postberg) you drive approx. 20kms and if you lucky you will catch a glimpse of the odd Bontebok, a few Springboks and tortoises crossing the road. When you reach Postberg which is only open to the public from August to September, it is impossible to describe the beauty of the fields and fields of flowers that you see. Driving through to the sea on the one side we stopped and took photos of the jewels sparkling in the sun. So happy that the sun came out as we expected rain and clouds. It is an amazing experience to see these white continuous flow of flowers and then again orange.pink and yellow in between the white.
On the side of the Langebaan lagoon the rock formations between the flowers were very sculptural. Blue flowers again and white with small little bulbous plants popping up in between them. It felt like such joy, happiness and gratitude for such a creation of nature. Beautiful is not enough to describe it, words are not enough, you have to personally experience it. The flowers are nearly on top o each other there are so many.
When we got out of the vehicle to take photos the fragrance in the air from the flowers was a soft smell so delicately delightful. This year it seems the flower are the best they have been in a long time. The Traveltime tour group which belongs to Carol & Brian is the best way to explore and travel. They are fantastic tour operators and make sure that you enjoy yourself to the utmost. I had a lovely day. Thanks guys..
