Traveltime Tours has made countless visits into The West Coast National Park, & surrounding areas! Don’t miss out on this tour of a lifetime!
It is important to note that we cannot guarantee flower viewing– this is dependent on good weather on the day and rains received in the months prior to our visit.
These tours are very popular and it is important that you secure your place ASAP.
Each turn you take in the road will yield a different picture which you will treasure for days and months to come.
We collect you from your home or guest house in the city and head along the R27 towards the West Coast National Park. We enter Postberg Fower Reserve, which is only open during the months of August and September each year. Postberg is famous for the superb display of Spring Flowers ; the healthy animals you can see on the plains, the views of the sea at Plaantjiesbaai and the wonderful view of ever-growing Langebaan from the view site at the top of the reserve. A day spent in the West Coast National Park is one you will not easily forget! We will arrange a packed lunch for the first day! We will check into our guest house, Darling Lodge Guest House in the late afternoon! (Stephan & Oliver will look after you well).
Dinner in Darling tonight! (B/L/D/E).
Our second day has us exploring the area in and around Darling—we enjoy a guided tour of Duckitt Orchids. Definitely a ’highlight’ of this tour! In t he afternoon we will visit Tienie Versveld Flower Reserve and also take time to see the local attractions in Darling – Evita se Perron; Darling Sweets. Dinner tonight is at Kossie Sikelele, (the fine dining restaurant at Evita se Perron). Overnight again at Darling Lodge Guest House (B/D/E)
We leave Darling after breakfast and head up the R27 towards Hopefield – the ‘small town with interest’ particularly in flower season. There will be a guided flower viewing tour (optional) with a local who is passionate about flowers & also time to browse their local Saturday market! Lunch in the town at Hello Restaurant. We will take the route Hopefield/Saldanha where traditionally there are patches of stunning flowers. We overnight at the Saldanha Protea hotel—dinner in house tonight!
We check into our accommodation for the next 2 nights – The stunning Protea Hotel in Saldanha. Dinner tonight is in house at the Protea Saldanha. (B/D/E).
Today we head to Velddrif – a short time to view Bokkom Laan before we head along the road towards Elands Bay—usually there are beautiful patches of flowers to view along the road! We will have a stop for a light lunch—(own account). Dinner tonight will be close to Saldanha! (B/D/E) – Overnight again at the Saldanha Protea Hotel.
After breakfast we check out of Saldanha and head to Paternoster for the day! There is plenty to see in this quaint village – art galleries; shops to browse; the Panty Bar at the Paternoster Hotel; you will be ‘spoilt for choice’ as how to spend your morning! Yes there will still be flowers to view in Paternoster. We will direct you to a restaurant where you can pick up lunch (own account), before we head back to Cape Town to arrive by about 16h30! (B).
