It is important to note that we cannot guarantee flower viewing– this is dependent on good weather on the day and rains received in the months prior to our visit.

Daily Program:

Day 1: Thursday 9th September                                     

We collect you from your home or guest house in the city and head along the R27 towards the West Coast National Park.  We enter  Postberg Fower Reserve, which is only open during the months of August and September each year. Postberg is famous for the superb display of Spring Flowers ; the healthy animals you can see on the plains, the views of the sea at Plaantjiesbaai and the wonderful view of ever-growing Langebaan from the view site at the top of the reserve.  A day spent in the West Coast National Park is one you will not easily forget! Lunch today is for your own account and we suggest you pack a light picnic lunch!  We will check into our guest house in Darling—The Darling Lodge Guest House in the late afternoon!  Dinner in Darling tonight!   (D/E).

Day 2: Friday 10th September 

Our second day has us exploring the area in and around Darling—we visit Duckitt Orchids and the Tienie Versveld Reserve.  You might be aware that the best flower viewing times are from 11h00—15h00 (depending on good sunshine as well).  However, in  Darling we will not be at a loss to visit the sites in and around town.  Other local attractions such as Evita se Perron; Darling Sweets, Darling Brew and some wine tasting can also be done! Dinner in Darling tonight!  (B/D/E)

Day 3: Saturday 11th September 

We leave Darling after breakfast and head up the R27 towards Velddrif – we will drive out on the road to Elandsbaai searching for patches of flowers for the photographers!  We must make time to go to the Khoisan Salt Factory shop in Velddrif; and in the late afternoon we will visit Bokkom Laan in Velddrif. This is a must-do in the area!
We check into our accommodation for the next 2 nights – The beautiful Blue Bay Lodge in Saldanha.  Dinner tonight is in house at the Blue Bay Lodge. (B/D/E).

Day 4:  Sunday 12th September

After breakfast we head to Hopefield – they always have a stunning display of flowers in the area!  We will visit Simply Bee (local honey products) in town (guided tour) and after this we visit the West Coast Fossil Park (B/D/E) – Dinner tonight is in Langebaan!

Day 5: Monday 13th September                                                               

After breakfast we check out of Blue Bay Lodge and head to Paternoster for the day!  There is plenty to see in this quaint village – art galleries; shops to browse; the Panty Bar at the Paternoster Hotel; you will be ‘spoilt for choice’ as to what to spend the morning doing!  We will direct you to a restaurant where you can pick up lunch before we head back to Cape Town by about 14h30!     (B).
