Our route today takes us from Airport Departures along the N2 to Knysna. A lunch stop (for your account) will be made in Swellendam at Tredici, a delightful coffee shop! Always good to stop and stretch your legs and have a break from the vehicle. We will arrive in Knysna in the late afternoon and check into our accommodation for the night, The Moorings (part of the Premier Group) on the lagoon in Knysna. Dinner tonight will be in-house at their restaurant—(included).
DAY 2: Monday 4th April
Breakfast will be at 07h30 and we should be back on-the-road by 08h30. Our destination today is Addo, giving us ample time to stop and sight-see along the route! There will be time to pick up a snack for your lunch (for your account). We have chosen the Zuurberg Mountain Village for our stay in this area! It is a 4* hotel, and a 160 year old haven of historical delight situated high up on the Zuurberg Pass in the malaria-free Addo area. Relax and enjoy their hospitality. Dinner (included) is at 19h00 – we will all meet in the bar anytime from 18h15 for a pre-dinner drink.
DAY 3: Tuesday 5th April
After our 2 days of travelling we believe today ought to be a day of enjoying Zuurberg—their pool and gardens. For those who wish to do so in the afternoon we can arrange an Elephant Encounter OR a High tea at nearby Camp Figtree….. or just relax and absorb nature for the day. Dinner, once again is included at Zuurberg—they are well known for their country Haute Cuisine and their legendary 5 course buffet.
DAY 4: Wednesday 6th April
Today after an early breakfast we head the 18kms down to Addo Elephant Park—to take part in a pre-booked morning game drive followed by lunch at their restaurant (own account) – in the afternoon we will make our way ‘home’ to Zuurberg again.
DAY 5: Thursday 7th April
Today we do a gentle drive to Plettenberg Bay – enjoying a lunch break at Marilyn’s 60’s Diner near Tsitsikamma. This diner is an experience of note, with its Cadillac’s and Chevy’s, neon rimmed signage, 50 and 60’s décor and Elvis and Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. The Diner itself forgoes no detail from the checkered floors to the red and white color scheme, juke box and sugar shakers. Enjoy a light lunch here (own account).
After lunch we will travel the last 65km of our trip to Plettenberg Bay where we will all check into the Bayview Hotel, our home for tonight! The hotel is close to the Main Plettenberg Bay beach—so perhaps a stroll before dinner at a local restaurant might just ‘fit-the-bill’ .
DAY 6: Friday 8th April
We have a fair distance to travel today—so would like to be on the road again by 08h30. Of course, we will make regular stops so you can relax and stretch your legs.
A lunch stop will be made en route (own account).
We should be back at the airport drop off point by about 16h30 to 17h00 and Centurion Tours will be waiting to take us back to our homes. Thank you for joining us on this tour.
