WHALE WATCHING
Updated 7th August - See below |
|
 |
|
The Western Cape is
favoured annually by the
visit of Southern Right
whales from August to
October. Whilst there
are many excellent
vantage points
throughout this area,
Hermanus sees many
visitors over this
period and celebrates
the arrival of the
whales by hosting an
annual whale festival.
This normally takes
place over the Heritage
day holiday in September
(24th). We have made a
number of visits to
Hermanus at this time,
over the years and have
experienced traffic
congestion and delays in
restaurant service.
It is with this in mind
that we have decided to
view the whales one week
earlier than the
festival date and enjoy
our own festivities and
relaxed meals. |

We
plan to look for accommodation
outside of Hermanus, in De
Kelders, which overlooks Walker
Bay. This beautiful, secluded
area is 162km from Cape Town and
2km from Gansbaai and has
spectacular view points across
the bay. |

Our recce is now complete and we
are excited about what is
available in the area. Please
