GOEDGEDACHT
OLIVE PEACE GROVE
Tuesday 15th March '07 |
|
|
|
Goedgedacht
is
an old Cape Dutch farm – first registered in
1704. Today the farm produces fruit, plums,
olives, figs and wheat. |
|
 |
GOEDGEDACHT
means ‘good thoughts’ or ‘well
considered’ – what better name for this
oasis of peace and blessing!
Our visit to the Farm started with a
concert given by the pre-schoolers all
wearing new beanies donated to them that
morning.
Early morning tea/coffee and biscuits
warmed us all up before our tour of
Goedgedacht. What an incredible peace
exists at Goedgedacht.
We enjoyed an olive oil talk which was
very enlightening, which was followed by
a visit to their after school centre. |
|
|
Then a brisk
walk up to the Dedication Wall where some
wonderful dedications are printed. Our lunch was
served in this huge farmhouse kitchen. Many of
the ladies thoroughly enjoyed this day –
evidence was that when it was time to go home I
battled to get everyone on the coach.
Members preferring to laze around in the sun
chatting – here Hilda and sister, Anne have fun
in the winter sun! |
