A breath of fresh air... |

In October 2011 a few of us paid an
impromptu visit to
FRESH,
the new restaurant on the Paul Cluver
Estate. We met
JOAN LANCEFIELD who
runs the Restaurant; Joan has been
instrumental in encouraging me to bring
the Time Out Ladies Club to Paul Cluver. |

The organic food garden was created some
years ago by Dr Paul Cluver and is both
functional and beautiful. Most of the
spaces are circular, which is very
soothing to the eye, with colourful
swathes of bright lights; spinach here,
electric blue artichokes there. You
might just taste fennel flowers, lush
basil leaves, herbs of all shapes and
sizes and perhaps see the most enormous
beetroots you will ever see! |

We will have time to wander over
to their orchard, where even
more treasures await.
Pomegranates, quinces, over 15
varieties of citrus. Joan tells
me their fig trees should be
bearing and that she might even
use them in what we have for
lunch later in their restaurant! |

|
|
Joan has the philosophy of using
only the best ingredients right
from the farm – so,
FRESH FROM
THE FARM TO THE TABLE
is their motto!!
FRESH has a wonderful, rustic
convivial environment with super
friendly staff!

approach to 2012 starting the
New Year off correctly! |

Paul Cluver Estate also hosts
summer concerts in their Forest
Amphitheatre; possibly another
outing to arrange with an
overnight stay? (Traveltime). |
