There’s far more to the
Stellenbosch winelands than just
wine!
Come with me and discover
DELVERA –
The
Outdoor Village in the Vineyards
The Delvera complex is the
brainchild of the Sperling
family of Delheim
fame. They knew they were onto
a winning formula.
Nora Sperling-Thiel
describes the Delvera complex as
an agricultural village.
Existing structures have been
converted and modified to suit
the creative process without the
massive upheaval and costs
normally associated with a big
development.
Old structures, stables and
barns have been converted to
house a selection of craft, food
and art offerings that prove a
‘delight to the senses’! |

There are a number of
businesses that can be
explored:-
The Vineyard Collection
- an up market wine shop
in the vineyards
Little Wool Shop & Farm
Kitchen
– they have a workshop
of spinning and weaving
with natural fibres.
Their shop is filled
with hand knits, yarns,
jewellery & gifts! There
is a wonderful deli as
well to fill those home
pantries
Johan Swart Ceramics
–“I believe that
everyone has a specific
destiny set aside for
them and I am grateful
that clay chose me to
shape it. In clay I am
able to express myself,
share myself, and find
myself.” |

Chrisna’s Olives – what was a hobby for Chrisna has turned into a
profitable business.
She gets most of her
olives from an
organically run farm
near Worcester, and she
cures them in salt
water.
Pure Earth Workshop – This is a creative space where botanically
inspired products are
manufactured in
beautiful surroundings.
They produce gourmet
treats for the bath and
body!
Hands On Arts and Crafts
– this is a venture of
local talented team of
local artists. The
products available are
ceramics, linen,
jewellery and paintings,
and cards!
Delilah
– She has a studio at Delvera to showcase her clothing
designs. Her style is
definitely Afro-chic and
flattering to ladies of
most ages.
Klapmutskop Conservation Nursery
– The indigenous garden
of the complex is a good
example of eventual
plant size and growth
habit which makes it
easier to select new
plants. See the variety
of medicinal & culinary
herbs and plants from
Klapmutskop Renosterveld
Conservancy! |
