When the decadent tiramisu cake was bought out, many of the ladies helped Carol to blow out our candles.  The beauty of friendship can never be ignored - life grows more precious each year, spent with friends.

The tissue paper at the top of the goody bags was quickly put to use and colourful hats were made.  After all you have to be noticed and stand out from the rest of the crowd.

Gillie and Ingrid very happy to be enjoying lunch together - Ingrid who won the Best Dressed Award quickly produced another pair of glasses out of her handbag.  Jenny, Trish and Kathy had a lot to share over lunch.

Ingrid produced yet another pair of glasses out of her bag - and lent Theresa a pair for this photo.  Our head chef Darren caught pensively contemplating between courses.  Joan, Chrissie and Linda share a moment.

Our very tasty Norwegian salmon dish set on a tartlet of creamed Swiss chard, roasted cherry tomatoes and Old Asiago. What is this Susan went to ask chef Darren at the height of his presentation - "Cheese" was the curt answer.  Linda and her mom Luisa enjoy being together, while Chrissie, Cynthia and Margie prove that lunches like this cement their friendship.

Lynn, Erika and Rose toast life while the good friendship formed between Ann and Hilda make each coach trip the more special.  "Old Friends' Marie and Heather enjoy each others' company.

A very new member, Jenny could not have sat next to a nicer person than Mary.  Mary needs to be commended for the amazing work she is doing with the collection of plastic bread clips - her 'wheelchair' project is worthy of praise.  Our dessert 'forced' all the ladies to neglect the diet that they had intended to start - who wants to diet when this is available?  Joan, Gwen and Vaughan add their individual glamour to the day.

Val joined us for the day from George and enjoyed lunch with Amy. We miss you, Val. Come back soon and visit us.  Elaine and Cecelia chat over lunch whilst Doreen and Ivy get to know each other a bit better.

Theresa wasted no time in charming the pianist.  His music added such a soothing touch to our day.  Ann who got her award for the Highest Stamina, especially for the part in the Namibian trip, was thrilled that Ingrid's glasses fitted her so well.  Wow don't I look CHIC?  So nice to see Barbi and 'old' friend, Hettie (who doesn't like to be photographed).

Cheryl and June seen enjoying their main course.  At the end of this day, many comments have been e-mailed, phoned and sms'd to me, and I believe that the day was a huge success - testifying that the work of Time Out 'needs' to carry on for many a year!  Life is precious because of friends, and without the special people in our lives, would seem insignificant!

Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and celebrate just living
